The best clients are often the ones who have a similar outlook as us.

They create very high quality products. They are changing their industry for the better. And for them, business starts with caring for world and community that surrounds them.

Description

We find a kinship with any companies that a commitment to making the world a better place as their starting line.

Orchard Street Press (OSP) produces eco-friendly, quality screen prints for t-shirts, aprons, hats, posters, babies onesies, bibs and more. They give their expert advice and design help to their clients, and that helps their clients produce better, more market-friendly products. When they needed a web design partner that got their vision and could communicate their level of quality online they chose Byte.

Strategy

OSP has two parts to their business model: services and products. That means there are two distinct audiences, and the site needs to be able to communicate different messages to each audience. At the same time, the screen printing industry has some very low quality players, to the point that it taints the industry as a whole. So the site need to communicate to multiple audiences and look and feel very different than the other sites out there.

Using skeuomorphic design might not be fashionable in tech right now, but it really does set a company apart. The OSP brand shows strongly with the patterned backgrounds, the typographic arrows and separators, and the stitched rules that harken to clothing construction. The hybrid home page lets a user mouse over the sections to see either side of the business. And the retail page feel fully retail friendly, with links off to Etsy or whatever commerce solution they want to sell on.

A little blast from the past (the site was created in 2011!) and a little bit funky, the OSP website still represents a great company with a commitment to make screen printing better for everyone.

We can't thank you enough for all that you've done to help us out and get the site up. It has turned out better than we could have ever imagined and we are excited for what it will do for our company. We feel like we have only touched on the tip of the iceberg as far as what we can do with it. Truly a work of iArt.
